Most of the web host sites nowadays offer a free version… but as expected, free web hosting will have limitations. Limited disc space, limited bandwidth, advertisement, domain names restrictions, limited tools and support… etc are some of the normal limitations that one will normally face when he/she chooses free web hosting.

However, if you are looking to host a website… and it will be a big one (not using too much space) and it’s only for your family and friends (something like a personal blog)… free web hosting will be a great option. Not only need you pay for anything… the tools (although limited) will be sufficient for you to produce a site up to your satisfaction.

However, do be very careful with those web hosts that use advertisement to cover the hosting cost. OK… most of them will do that… but those using pop-ups will make your site pretty irritating to browse. Well, most of the browsers have the pop-up blocker feature added in nowadays… but the prompts can reach an irritating point too… especially when there are too many pop-ups.

Another option would be what most people are doing right now… and that would be using Blogspot or Wordpress. Both of these sites are offering free hosting and the limitations are pretty… err… well… non-existent. I have tried both and they are OK… and oh… maybe the domain names will be a limitation… but it’s not too bad. After all you will get to name your blogs pretty interestingly.

Oh… one major limitation for those who wanna develop a website if they wanna opt for Blogspot or Wordpress… you can only develop blogs using these two and not websites. However, Wordpress has plugins and widgets that are making it looking a lot more like a CMS. I am not sure if the same are available for Blogspot or not… it has been quite a while since I last used it.

Wow… it’s only about free web hosting… and how much I have strayed off the topic. I haven’t even got to the main point in choosing your free web host… but if I were to continue, you will fall asleep soon. I will be back on this again later. Ciao for now.

Meanwhile, I found that my postings for Biz-e-Body have been very irregular nowadays. I am still hoping for daily posting… but will still need to see if time permits.

Back to Biz-e-Book, you will find a blank page if you browse it now… I have yet to include any article into it. This book will grow together with the site… hmm… who knows, maybe one day some publisher will be generous enough to publish it in hardcopy for me.

Weekend is coming again… and I will be busy with Trig’s Tips… will not be able to post here or Blog-an-Anime (Blog-an-Anime is by far with the least posts). Will be back again next week. Ciao for now.

And when I say frequently… I don’t mean daily. This may lead to the search engine banning your site (considered as spamming… I guess). However, I don’t really know how true it is… but I will schedule to submit the site maps for my three blogs every month… or maybe six weeks (of course six weeks will be harder to follow… and I may end up submitting every quarter).

And oh… and if you are new to site mapping… try reading this post first. It may not help much as it is more about the plugin… but the plug in has helped me out so far. I guess no harm done when what I am doing here is just to re-recommend the plugin to WP users.

Logically… there is no point on frequent submission (monthly) if you have only a few posts per month. In a few, I mean less than ten posts. It will still help… but I don’t think the impact to the search engines indexing will be significant.

OK… I think I am going to submit my site maps now. If I am not mistaken, the last time I submitted was when I installed the plugin… and that’s already more than a month. Talk to you guys later. Ciao for now.

Yup, I am jobless now… and I am looking forward to start it off on my own… and wow! There are certainly loads of things to think about. Anyway, these sites will also be one of my projects as well.

I am thinking of starting an engineering consulting firm… cum trading house… cum website designing company… and those are pretty much unrelated themes. Therefore, I am thinking about how to combine all these three is such a way that all of them will seem to be related.

Back to Biz-e-Body, I will be proceeding with what I have thought out earlier. I would love to call it a “Blogbook” or “Blook” (not actually new terms… juz googled it up and there are already such sites)… or may be “Biz-e-Book” (juz thought it up) and this book will be ever extending… just as long as I keep updating this blog.

This page will be created as an index to the posts… the posts will be categorized into relevant chapters as the topics… and aside from that, there will be an Appendix page and that would be Biz-e-List. Meanwhile, I will not be linking all my posts into the Biz-e-Book. After all, I need to ramble about some other topics as well.

The postings will not be in sequence though. The sequence will be decided based on the post relevance.

Well… I guess this is a pretty long one after a quiet few days… will be back again soon… and most likely you will be able to see the new page (most likely blank too) very soon. Ciao for now.

In terms of activeness, Trig’s Tips stand number one while Biz-e-Body is number two. I have to reduce my postings to Blog-an-Anime though… as the posts in that blog requires the most work.

Anyway, I hoping that I can re-layout Biz-e-Body soon enough… well, I am not going to change the blog outlook though. Hmm… I tend to like this template very much… and where did I get it? I will tell you next time.

Anyway, I am still working on this blog… as per my yesterday’s post; I am planning out the layout of Biz-e-Body. The rough idea is this… there will be one section for the “building a website/blog” guide, one section for the compiled lists, one section for Wordpress plugins and finally one section for my usual rambles.

The posts will keep on coming… and then they will be sorted out to their respective areas. I intend to ignore all my previous posts… and if there is a need to include the previous topics, I will just re-write it in a more formal way… err… I don’t think I will take out the “…” of which in a sense I like very much.

I may want to repeat this again… at the moment Biz-e-Body is still a one man show… and as I have 2 other blogs to maintain, there will be limitations to the speed of this blog’s development. Well, even Trig’s Tips and Blog-an-Anime is progressing pretty slowly (in terms of monetized blogging). I would sincerely appreciate if there is anyone out there willing to contribute to any of the three blogs. I would not be able to pay wages or salary… but I will whenever I can.

Biz-e-Body is not from UK… and with the conversion rate, I don’t think it is really advisable for me to get anything from UK… especially when I can get the same product/services (ok… maybe with a relatively lower quality) at a lower price. Besides that, I like things free… yup, I love freebies.

Anyway, the main thing is the idea of the mag that really interests me… a guide on how to set up a website… blog… and whatnot as long as in the net. You know… titles like biz ideas, choosing a web host, blog or CMS, software for web design… blah, blah, blah… and of course site monetizing. All these organized into chapters… hmm… I am just wondering if I can do the same with Biz-e-Body.

I have to admit though… I am neither a website guru nor a blogging expert… but if I were to put everything I learn (while developing my blogs) into this blog and organize them like a book/guide… I believe there ought to be some people out there to be interested. Agree?

Also, I am thinking of make lists… yes, lists… like the ad network list, the social media list… etc. Why? Well, I have tried looking up for those lists… and all the list I get are either old or chargeable (I like things FREE!!!). I have tried looking up at Wikipedia (etc)… and I have to thank to the contributors there (those Wiki contributors have my utmost respect for providing all those info)… although they do stress that the list was not exhaustive.

Well, these lists can never be exhaustive… the sites just come and go… and there is no way for anyone to be fully alert of what’s coming and what’s going. So, I am just thinking to build some FREE lists… that will be updated occasionally by me (with feedback from some good Samaritans out there). And why do I want to do all these for FREE??? OK… I am dumb… just kidding… but I believe in giving more, you will be getting back more (I read this in one of those “getting rich” books… heh).

And oh… I may be affiliating myself with some of those sites in the list… well, one way or the other… I don’t think I will lose anything by doing this. In fact, I believe this will be a win-win-win strategy for all of us (me, the sites and the reader).

Fortunately, there is Akismet plugin in the first place where I filter out the comments prior to publish them to the blog. However, as the numbers of these spam comments getting more… ok… it’s time for Captcha… because I accidentally deleted one of the real comments together with the spam.

In case there are still people out there who don’t know what Captcha is… well… just Wiki it out… you will get enough explanation for that. In short, Captcha can help to prevent spam… especially those bots.

There are several plugins serve the similar function… but I have chosen this one (refer to the name in the first paragraph)… since it works… and it doesn’t need and API key. I have not installed any plugin for users’ registration as of now (well… the page views for this blog is still pretty low)… but the Captcha will be hidden if the commenter is a registered user.

Talk about registered users… I have big plans for Biz-e-Body and I want to make it as big as possible… but I still couldn’t find the widget that allows people to register for this blog. Well… it’s still early as the visitors to this site barely hit two figures per day (yup… the traffic is that low at the time of this post).

Anyway… back to this “SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam”, I have already tested it once (yup… only once)… and since it works, I will leave it as it is for now. If any one of you out there is interested to installed this plug in… I have already linked it out here or u can click on the plugin’s name mentioned above. Download, install and test it… do feedback if you find any bug in the plugin in.

Oh… by the way, I use WP version 2.8.6… and the test was done with IE8 only… not too sure if it will work with other browsers… or the older versions of IE. Ciao for now.
